Culture is not merely a legacy of the past; it is a part of our being that lives with us wherever we are in the world.

In this work, the figure of a woman, amid silence and darkness, is embraced by the colourful patterns of a Persian carpet; as though culture were a garment resting not on her body, but on her soul.

The simple, unfinished lines of the figure, in contrast with the delicacy and complexity of the carpet's patterns, portray the bond between a person and their cultural heritage.

This embrace is more than a sign of belonging to a land; it recalls roots that endure through time, distance and displacement.

“Embraced by Culture” tells of an identity that knows no borders; an identity one can carry along without ever becoming separated from it.
